Crystal Chandeliers will never go out of fashion!

Chandeliers have survived the renaissance that they experienced a few years ago and are no longer reserved solely for period properties, like Georgian mansions. In fact, crystal chandeliers are being designed for and installed in modern and even industrial interiors as well as barn conversions where the elegant crystals contrast strikingly against the warm rustic interiors of the barn. Deciding that you want a crystal chandelier is easy but deciding which crystal chandelier would suit the style and size of your room can be a difficult decision to make without the help of an expert. Taking into consideration the height of your ceilings as well as the other dimensions of the room, like windows, alcoves, doors and other features is also important to make an informed decision about what would look best in your home. At Regency Chandeliers and Interiors we do offer a specialist consultancy service where we can come to your home to help you decide on this matter for yourself giving you complete peace of mind that you are making the right decision for your home; we know that buying a chandelier is an investment. However, in these days of social distancing, many people feel uncomfortable about having strangers in their home, so that is why we have put together our experienced and knowledgeable advice for deciding which crystal chandelier would perfectly suit your room to help you work this out by yourself.

1. Don’t forget to measure your room

The first and most important, thing to do when deciding on which chandelier would look best in your home is to get all of your measurements right. This might mean measuring a couple of times or getting someone to help you if you have particular rooms or rooms with tall ceilings. Before visiting our showroom or contacting us online, measure the width, length, and height of your room. The wonderful thing about our chandeliers is that because we get them made for you, we can customise each of our crystal chandelier designs, so that it will fit the exact proportions of your room. However, there are some different rules to apply to ordering a chandelier to hang over a dining table, kitchen island, or other high traffic areas, so we are very happy to talk that process through with you. We also recommend that you take some photographs of your room when you are measuring the room, which you will then be able to take to your in-store appointment to view our range of chandeliers, or that you could email to us to show us your room if you decide you would like some help.

2. Select your favorite chandelier design

Decisions, decisions. You then have the tough decision of choosing which chandelier you like the most and whether you are going for a classic design like the Montpellier Bag Chandelier shown above in a nickel finish, or for a more contemporary design like The Clarence Round Chandelier. We can also help you to design a completely unique chandelier, every bit as individual as you, if you have an idea that you would love to bring to life in your home. We are able to provide you with samples of crystal trimmings and sketches of the design as we work on bringing your dream to life

3. Choose the finish of the metal parts

All of our chandeliers are available to order in five finishes: nickel, gold, brushed brass, antique gold and matt bronze. The choice is usually dictated by the finishes that are already dominant in your home’s interior, door and kitchen handles, although this is not always the case. Matt bronze and nickel finish are very universal finishes and therefore they work well with existing tones and colours in your home.

4. Order your chandelier

Once you have checked all of your measurements and decided on the chandelier you would like, the size of it, and the fi then it is time to order your chandelier.  If you are unsure about the choice, this is the point to ask for any advice or for an in-home consultancy appointment.

5. Home visit and installation

Once you have ordered your chandelier and we have visited your home (if needed), then it is a matter of waiting for your chandelier to arrive after it has been made to your specifications. It usually takes 4-6 weeks for our chandeliers to be made. We very often provide a chandelier installation to our customers. This is something in which we have years of experience meaning that we can do it smoothly and in a timely manner saving you a lot of time and worry. When you are looking to buy a chandelier, then here at Regency Chandeliers and Interiors, we are able to advise and guide your decision-making process in one of our specialist consultancy appointments. We are able to come to your home to measure and take stock of the style of your property, thereby giving you a well-informed, personalised opinion on what would work best for you and your property.
